Leo Bautović, a versatile artist, who lives and works in a small place called Obuljeno near Rijeka Dubrovačka was born in 1981 in Dubrovnik. Ever since his earliest youth he expressed a talent for art. In 2007 he started to seriously engage in painting. He became a member of ULIPUD (Association of Fine and Applied Artists Dubrovnik) in 2009. Since then, he often exhibits his work in Dubrovnik and its surroundings. In his work Leo tends to experiment, so it varies in theme and technique. He has the ability to catch every scene and has controls the movement perfectly, even while using a minimum of artistic details. Great attention is paid to background, where Leo combines techniques such as putty knife and brush. In addition to realistically painted scenes and impressions, Leo often paints his own imaginary, which gives a special mark to his opus. His carefully constructed color plays will attract every true art lovers' attention. Given that he spends most of his time hunting, diving and fishing, scenes from nature are common themes of Leo's works. Panoramas and views of Dubrovnik, the painter’s hometown, still occupy a special place in his opus and are a permanent source of his artistic inspiration.
Leo's second love is mixology- creating unique cocktails- so his signature cocktail cards can be found in many bars and hotels. In his own words, he put together his two loves. Thanks to his art talent Leo often wins prizes in national and international bartenders' competitions for his masterly and memorable, vivid decorations. In 2017 he won the national championship and as the best bartender in Croatia he got the opportunity to be a member of Croatian national bartender team in World bartender championship in Estonia 2018. Leo represented Croatia there with his cocktail Ombla, named after a small river near his house.
